Frequently asked Questions (FAQ’s)
-
In simple terms, Osteopathy is often considered a holistic hybrid of physiotherapy and chiropractic techniques, aimed at improving the overall health and well-being of clients.
We utilise a range of manual therapy techniques like soft tissue massage and joint mobilisation, along with exercise prescription and potentially some manipulations to achieve a positive improvement in pain levels and/or mobility to empower you to restart your fitness goals.
Our approach is non-invasive, encourages drug-free healing where possible and empathetic, while remaining result driven.
-
If you’ve had treatment before but the issue keeps coming back, it usually means the underlying cause hasn’t been addressed.
Our approach bridges that gap:
Treatment to reduce pain
Strength and movement work to fix the cause.
A clear progression plan back to full training.
Options for coaching in the future to take you to the next level.
-
Most other allied health clinics just focus on reducing your pain…
At Stampede Performance, we focus on getting you back to performing at your best… and then help you achieve new heights.
We are able to implement hands-on manual therapy (massage, manipulations, stretching) AND exercise rehabilitation in a way that elicits short term improvements in pain, but also creates long term changes in strength/movement, allowing you to become self-sufficient in your health and not be dependent on us in the future. -
Your initial consultation is a 60-minute (or 90-minute if you get the extended appointment) session where we:
Take a detailed assessment to try to understand your injury and training history
Analyse how your body moves and what movements might be the root cause of your issue.
Begin hands-on treatment
Go through your prescribed exercise rehabilitation together
Give you a clear plan with emails and videos moving forward.
You’ll leave knowing exactly what’s going on and what to do next, and will never feel lost in the healthcare system again.
-
Absolutely not. Never.
Any health practitioner that encourages unnecessary appointments is not truly acting in your best interest.
If clinically indicated because of the severity of pain or movement restriction, of course we will give you honest feedback about when we believe would be best for your next session…
But we would never preemptively assume a minimum amount of appointments and always aim to discharge you from our care feeling back to 100%…. or better!
-
It depends on a lot of factors - your injury, goals, consistency with rehab, stress, sleep, nutrition, presence of chronic health issues…
Some people feel significant improvement in a few sessions or less… but often these results are more a process of natural healing timeframes, NOT magical hands.
True long-term results come from addressing the root cause and building strength over time.
We will always be upfront about what to expect, our honest thoughts about why you might need another session, and give you options as to when to book it to suit your needs both physically and financially.
-
In 9/10 cases, absolutely not.
We are able to assess your current training programs (if you have any) and modify your training so you can keep moving while recovering. The goal isn’t to rest you into deconditioning (which happens a disturbing amount in our healthcare system) - it’s to help you train in a way that actually speeds up recovery and allows you to feel good mentally while you regain your spark.
-
This list is far from exhaustive, but these are the most common issues that we see in our clinic and help with:
Neck pain and headaches
Low back pain
Hip and knee pain
Shoulder injuries
Barbell-related issues (squat, bench, deadlift)
Whether you’re dealing with something new or something that keeps coming back, we focus on why it’s happening and give you a plan to change it, permanently.
-
No! We manage a wide range of clients from all different backgrounds of sports, occupations, ages, beliefs, cultures.
However, that being said… we do specialise in people who train.
We work with all types of:Lifters (powerlifting, strongman, bodybuilding, CrossFit)
Active individuals (runners, Hyrox, cyclists, swimmers)
People who want to get stronger but feel limited by pain
People who are new to the gym and don’t know what to do…
Hey! That was us one day as well. We’re here to support you!
-
Yes.
There is no exception to this rule.
This isn’t us being mean - this is us telling you that without exposure to movement, you cannot create lasting changes.
No health practitioner is capable of providing you with long term changes using just their hands. Anyone who says so is selling you snakes oil… be careful please.
-

ABOUT US
Hey! I’m Isaiah Young, owner of Stampede Performance.
I started Stampede Performance with the goal to create genuine change in the lives of those who enter the clinic.
Too many people talk about how pain affects their daily lives and that they wish they could ‘feel like they did in their 20’s or 30’s again’.
Well, maybe we can actually make you feel like that again… through strength training.
Over 3000 happy clients serviced in Brisbane since 2020.
